About Jayne Huddleston

Jayne Huddleston is a media relations consultant and journalist. Through her media relations business, JH Media, she has represented some of Canada’s best-known equestrian show jumpers including Ian Millar, Eric Lamaze and Jill Henselwood. She represented Millar during his many successful years partnered with the great Big Ben. It was during that period that he became the first equestrian in Canada to gain household-name status outside the equestrian community.
She represented Millar, Lamaze and Henselwood during the lead-up to the 2008 Olympic Games and during the Games. The Canadian show jumping team received unprecedented levels of mass-market publicity during that period. This, in spite of the Olympic equestrian events being held thousands of kilometres from the main Olympic host city, where most Canadian journalists were working.
As a journalist, Jayne has covered more international show jumping events than any other Canadian, as a photo-journalist and as a member of a major network television crew.
She maintains one of the largest databases of show jumping information in the world. She is often consulted by international media and has frequently been interviewed on television and by newspaper reporters about show jumping.
She has covered show jumping at multiple Olympic Games, Pan American Games, World Championships and World Cups and, as a result, has witnessed some of the most historic events in the sport. She has covered or attended almost every major international show jumping tournament in the world, including 52 tournaments at Calgary’s world-renowned Spruce Meadows.
Her database and her knowledge of the sport led to her being retained as an expert witness in a civil lawsuit involving show jumpers.
She supplies the data on the website www.equestrianjumpingcanada.com
Currently JH Media is focusing on media relations training for organizations and on one-on-one media coaching, in a variety of subject areas.
